This week was all about composing the shot of our cinematic trailer. This consisted of writing a shot deconstruction, creating concept storyboard sketches, creating a final storyboard and making a colour key.

My Storyboard sketches ended up being more like composition experiments, whoever I felt that this was more helpful than sketching. There are 3 different environments that I chose, and I arranged my assets and characters around the scene in different ways to see what looked best.

From there I chose my favorite composition from each environment and coloured it all in to allow me a better understanding of which composition looks best, and will work the best in relation to the cinematic trailer.

This landscape was based off the shot deconstruction and taking heavy inspiration (in fact more like recreating) from the shot from the beginning of the first GOT episode.

This second landscape was a based off an image of Scandinavia.

As well as the third landscape also being based off an image of Scandinavia.

I ended up choosing this landscape, and took inspiration from the shot deconstruction in terms of placement of the characters and assets.

I created a detailed storyboard based off an animatic I started creating, where each frame briefly shows the movements of the characters and the time lapse.

Finally I created a Colour key to help my expand on the mood of the story and the scene. As I will be creating a time lapse I am able to use multiple colour palettes to help give the illusion of passing time.
