This week we had to create an animatic based on our storyboard and a 3D block out of our scene. Lucky for me I am creating my cinematic trailer in 3D anyway, as so my block out is more of a finished un-textured scene.
My animatic took a very long time to create, but I an very happy with the result. I decided to spend so much time on it to make sure that the timing, the lighting and the characters where all working properly and that the story was easy to read. I feel I have accomplished this and so now it is time to start concentrating on applying this to my 3D scene.
I created my 3D scene by taking the composition from my storyboard and putting it onto a plane which I could use as reference when creating the scene:

I used a focal length of 55 mm on my camera so when creating the scene, to keep everything proportionate I had to make my scene incredibly long even though it looks as though everything is close together. This flattens the image giving it a stylized look.

This took a long time as I had to model everything from scratch (except the house, yet I still had to make changes to it). however I am happy with the composition and will be ready for the Paintover for next week.
