Starting the week off, I began following a tutorial on how to create a stylized crate.
I followed the tutorial to the T (minus having to use Mudbox instead of Zbrush).
Below if the final sculpt:

I have textured the crate in Substance Painter, I just havent taken a screenshot of it yet...
After this, I began modelling from a speed modelling video by the same creator.
Again, I followed this pretty much exactly as the creator had made his model, however I made a few tweaks, such as adding liquid to all the bottles, and making the cork separate and axtruding it further into the bottle so that you can see the end of the cork.
Below are my models with the UV unwrap:

I havent had a chance to bring it into Substance painter yet as there is only Substance painter in 1 classroom, which tends to always be booked...
So being unable to finish my tutorial piece, I started concepting some designs and possible assets. Before I could start drawing I needed to understand how to create stylized art, and gather references.
I watched this tutorial and in the beginning he went over the key parts of what makes something stylized:
1. Very Few/No straight Lines
2. Lighting, Shadows, A.O are painted in. Key-light positioned above object.
3. Dirt, Damage and cuts are emphasized.
4. Rich Colour Pallet.
His process was:
- Brings model into Photoshop, and paints on the UVs and can see real time updates onto 3D model.
- Starts by blocking the base colours with shadows.
- Masks off each area and makes a rough pass over with different colours.
- Adds in highlights.
- Adds in contrast and shadows,
- final details.
From here I began concepting finally:

I feel confused on how I am going to present my models once I have finished them, whether to make small scene settings or to have single assets... I concepted layouts if I were to create say a witches table:

But i am not sure how I am going to present my assets...
On another note, I gained a Cross Discipline! yay! I have been talking to a audio guy called Callum and he is fantastic. He is very quick with creating content and very quick to reply and change anything that needed to be changed. So only after 1 week I already have audio for my showreel which is fantastic :) I started by listening to a bunch of his audio snippits, from there I emailed him if he was able to create me something. He then replyed by requesting we talk on facebook. I messaged him what I wanted and sent him a moodboard and example material. From there, the next day he sent me a track. Overall I really liked what he sent me, but I was unsure of how it would sound with my showreel, so I made him a Mockup Showreel:
After this he added his track on top however there was no transition between starting and finishing, so I requested this of him, and he gave me a final track:
Thats all for this week :)
